NEW LIFE YOUTH CAMP CENTRAL
22nd - 24th April, El Rancho, Waikanae
Theme
SALT and LIGHT The camp theme will be based on the following scripture. We want to see young people walk into camp who may know of God or even have a relationship with him, walk out knowing their purpose in God.
Their Purpose
To have a God flavor about them. Everywhere they go, every home, every classroom, every workplace, every sports field, every locker room, every hallway, wherever they step foot, it will be undeniable that they add to that atmosphere in a God way. When they leave that place is not the same. Their relationship they have with God is not something they can or want to hide.
Scripture
“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. 14-16 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16 (MSG)
Meet Your Host: Pastors Kyle and Grace Weedon
Kyle and Grace oversee the youth of New Life in NZ. They have a passion to see the next generation step into the fullness of life with God. Kyle and Grace met each other at a NEW LIFE YOUTH Camp, years ago as camp leaders, when Kyle decided to tazor Grace on the last morning of camp. Little did he know but a spark was lit. Together they have experienced camp as teenagers and know the life change that can happen and the positive impact it can have on a young persons life. Their vision is for the young people who attend to discover their worth In God and come to the realisation that their life has a purpose.
Meet Your Host: Pastors Lewis and Miriam Bloomfield
Hello, I am Lewis the regional New Life youth leader for the Wellington region. Alongside my wife Miriam, we are the Assistant Pastors of Abundant Life Church Wellington. I have been leading the youth at ALC for the last 6 years. I love seeing you people grow in their understanding of who they are and who God is. I believe that God wants to speak to all the young people of NZ and I want to do everything I can do to help that. I do get a buzz out of winning all the youth games as well. I am so excited for Storm camp. Can’t wait for the worship, great speakers, hang out with everyone, and also so excited for the Bandits to win storm wars this year. I also love to hang out with my wife, three sons AND DAUGHTER. One thing you won’t know about me is I LOVE Star wars, Marvel and Lego. I have grown up since primary school I promise.
